3 Day Safari from Moshi Detailed itinerary

Arrival

  • You'll be collected from the airport.

  • Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost.

Day 1 - Arusha – Tarangire National Park

In the morning, we'll pick you up from Arusha or Moshi town and head through the Masai Steppe, passing Makuyuni Junction to reach Tarangire National Park. It's the fifth largest park in Tanzania and is known for its huge Baobab trees and impressive herds of elephants. If you love big animals and wildlife, Tarangire is a must-visit on your Tanzanian safari. The park is home to various animal species, including rare ones like the Oryx and hirolas, as well as unique bird species. In the afternoon, we'll leave the park and check in at the fantastic Sangaiwe Tented Camp, offering stunning views of the plains and Lake Burunge. Alternatively, you may be transferred to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay at a lodge. The package includes lunch and dinner.

Day 2 - Ngorongoro Crater Full game drive

After having breakfast early in the morning at your camp when the sun is rising, you'll pack up and head towards the Ngorongoro Crater, which is also called the 8th Wonder of the world. When you get there, you'll sign in at the Loduare Main Gate, and then you'll go down into the Crater for an amazing game drive. You'll have a picnic lunch on the Crater floor.

The Ngorongoro Crater is often called one of the world's wonders. Even though it's not exactly a crater, it's the largest intact volcanic caldera globally and a natural home to many animals in Africa. It's a special place where you can see a lot of animals, including the rare black rhino in their natural environment. Because not many animals move in and out of the crater due to its high walls, you can spot lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds, and other species. With some luck, you might see the Big 5 in just one game drive, thanks to your sharp safari guide.

In the afternoon, you'll go back up to the Crater rim and either stay at a lodge (with an extra cost) or we'll take you to our usual lodge at Karatu, just outside the conservation area near the gate. You'll spend the night at Country Lodge at Karatu or a similar place, and all your meals are included.

Day 3 - Lake Manyara - Transfer to back Arusha Area / Departure

On the last day of your 3-day Tanzania safari, you'll have an early morning breakfast at the lodge. You can also bring a packed breakfast and lunch if you prefer. After breakfast, you'll descend into the Great Rift Valley and visit Lake Manyara National Park.

The name 'Manyara' comes from the Masai language, and it refers to the euphorbia tirucalli trees. These trees are commonly used by the nomadic Masai people to make hedges for protecting their homes and livestock. The park is full of these trees, and you might spot tree-climbing lions resting on the branches in the afternoon. Other animals you can see in this lush, green park include impalas, giraffes, buffaloes, and dik-diks.

As you enter the park, you'll notice a vibrant, green forest nourished by underground water streams. This forest is a perfect home for blue monkeys, baboons, bushbucks, and large elephants seeking shelter from the afternoon sun, munching on green branches, twigs, and herbs. At Lake Manyara, you'll have the opportunity to observe hippos and aquatic birds like flamingoes, pelicans, Egyptian geese, cormorants, and more.

You'll enjoy game drives until midday, and then head to Arusha. If you're departing on the same day, we can drop you off at your Arusha Hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport for a small fee. Lunch and dinner are included in the package.
