Your safari adventure begins today! Our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Zanzibar (Stone Town, Nungwi, Paje, Jambiani, etc.) and transfer you to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) for your short flight (≈1 hr) to Arusha Airport (ARK). On arrival, your professional guide meets you for a 2–2.5 hour drive to Tarangire National Park.

Enter Tarangire for your first game drive. Famous for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees, Tarangire’s river, seasonal swamps and open savannah draw wildlife year-round. Keep an eye out for giraffe, zebra, impala, wildebeest, buffalo, and—if luck allows—lions and leopards. Birdlife is outstanding, with raptors and colourful residents along the river.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot (or hot lunch at a lodge, depending on your plan), then continue game viewing through the golden afternoon.

In the early evening, drive to your selected accommodation inside Tarangire or in the Karatu area for dinner and overnight—perfect positioning for tomorrow’s journey to the Serengeti.
